History: Hinikuna was born in Japan in the late 1700's. He lived a relatively peaceful life with his family that consisted of three brothers, a sister, mother, father, and grandpa. They all lived in a small fishing village that was only visited by traders. He never liked fishing; probably because his whole family could fish much better than him. His only dream was to get out of the fishing village, start a farm, marry a beautiful woman, and start a family. He would regret leaving the village though.
When Hinikuna was 23 he decided to pack up his very few belongings and leave. He left his family without even saying goodbye in the middle of the day while they were all busy. He was travelling on the only road out of his village when he saw several men on horses riding toward the village. They were all armed heavily. He tried to run back to his village but one of the men caught up to him and stabbed him in his back.
The next time Hinikuna opened his eyes his family was standing over him and covering him in dirt. They somehow survived their encounter with the armed men on horses. So did he. However, they didn't realize that. Pretty much the moment he opened his eyes there was dirt being thrown into them. Dirt entered his mouth the moment he tried shouting out to them, his mouth was already covered.
Hinikuna slowly died from the lack of oxygen. Then he awoke again, he had no idea how. He tried digging his way out but he couldn't even move his arm from the pressure of the dirt covering him. Thats when a stick reached down and poked him. Then it was retracted and poked him again, and again, and again, each time in a different spot. Then it finally poked near his hand and he was able to grab it.
Once Hinikuna grabbed the stick he was slowly being pulled up with it. Once he broke through the earth he noticed a very pale, big man holding the stick with an older looking lady in robes next to him. Once he stood up and looked around he noticed the village was empty. It looked like everybody stopped what they were doing and ran away. He tried to speak but had trouble opening his mouth. Thats when the pale man and elderly woman started walking away. With nowhere else to go he followed.
"Ah, so your good at following. Good. Follow." The elderly woman said to Hinikuna after he followed the duo for about an hour. He tried speaking again but noticed something was wrong with his jaw. He then punched himself in the jaw and heard a loud "pop!" noise. Then he tried talking but he was simply mumbling. Thats when the big pale man said "Ya'git used ta it. Ya'can call me Okina.". "Big" thought Hinikuna, he wondered how he got THAT name.
Once the newly-formed trio reached their destination Hinikuna was told that the year was 1878. That meant that his whole known family would be dead by now. He was shocked with the news of the current year that he didn't even try talking for several weeks. Thats when the old lady came to where he was sleeping and said a single sentence "I'm your master, go clean.". Hinikuna simply nodded, tried to say "yes" but just mumbled "yuuuhs" and went to clean.
Several more years passed as Hinikuna continued to do the housework of his master. They lived in a pagoda tucked deep inside a forest where nobody ever traveled near. During those years he learned how to properly talk, even better than Okina. Then he realized that "Master" wasn't aging. They sometime held conversations but nothing ever regarding anybody's past. When he asked who she really is she simply ignored him and Okina tore off half of his right forearm.
Hinikuna didn't even flinch when part of his forearm was torn off. He is undead, he didn't feel anything. He simply picked up the now detached part of his arm and walked back to his room. Later that night his master walked in and sewed it back on perfectly. He didn't hate her for not stopping Okina, he didn't even hate Okina. What he hated was that he did something wrong that must have displeased his master. He was officially broken.
Around a hundred years passed. Hinikuna had been following his master's orders without fail for over 100 years. He was sent out gathering herbs one day when he suddenly felt something strange. He shrugged it off and decided to go back to the pagoda. When he tried getting there(password is "suika") he couldn't find it. He looked for hours, retraced his steps multiple times, and it wasn't there. Then he realized that the forest he was was very different from usual. He managed to cross over into Gensokyo.
Hinikuna searched for the pagoda for almost a week before he reached the edge of the forest and saw a human carrying a large sack of mushrooms leaving the forest. He approached the human and once he was noticed the human ran from him. He didn't know why he was running. Was the human running from him? He had no idea. He turned around just to make sure there wasn't anything behind him and saw a large tiger, bigger than him and the human combine, stalking him. He tried to run when the tiger pounced on him.
Hinikuna tried keeping the tiger's mouth away from him but it was able to tear apart his clothes and shred his skin. Then, by instinct, he placed a hand on the tiger's chest and cleared his mind. Energy started flowing out of the tiger and into Hinikuna. Hinikuna then pushed the tiger off of him and reached his hand out toward the tiger. Dozens of pure black orbs surged forth toward the tiger and started pulling it in every direction. The tiger eventually dropped to the ground, still alive, and simply stared at Hinikuna as if begging for mercy.
Hinikuna simply stared back into the tiger's eyes and walked away, sparing it. After walking for several hours he noticed he was practically in the nude due to his clothes being torn to shreds. In the middle of the night Hinikuna found a big village. He saw some clothes hanging up outside of a house and decided to take some and run. He also grabbed a hat from a nearby house that he thought looked cool.
He put on his new clothes(his shorts were the only things that didn't need replaced) and walked back toward the forest. Assuming that he knew what direction to go in.
